Labor and Postpartum Doula

I was petrified by this view of childbirth. I started seeing patterns of what was missing in these women's experiences: lack of emotional support, physical support, and education. These women didn't know YOU are the ones in power of your own experience. YOU can tap into your primal instincts and listen to your body. YOU don't have to do it all or do it alone. Birth can be just as beautiful as the end result!

My passion for helping women started after I gave birth to my daughter in 2020. I had the most amazing birth experience because of the abundant support and education I had surrounding me throughout my entire journey. After telling friends and family about how beautiful and empowering my birth was, one by one horror stories about traumatic births came out of the wood work. That was normal right? Birth was scary, painful, and traumatic. Do whatever you were told and just "get through it". Your beautiful baby you get at the end makes the awful experience of child birth worth it. Right?

WRONG.
That's when I decided I wanted to help as many women as I could get the birth experiences they deserved! Ideally, we want the best birth experience possible for everybody but in reality, we know that doesn't always happen. My goal is to try and make it the best experience possible given the circumstances that are at play in that moment. Every step of the way I will support your choices NO MATTER WHAT. I want to create a non-judgmental environment where you feel comfortable voicing your wants and needs. If I can get you to a mindset where you and your partner feel informed, confident, supported and READY for your labor, I have done my job as a labor doula.

But let's not forget support doesn't end after labor. We get so wrapped up in pregnancy, planning for labor, and endless appointments making sure baby is doing well. Then, congratulations your baby is born!!

....now what?

We often forget to plan for postpartum! It truly takes a village to raise a baby. Plan for friends and family to help cook or clean while you are doing the only job you are meant to do:
Rest, heal, and bond with baby.
​
Have a limited village? That's what I'm here for. As a postpartum doula not only am I here to help maintain the house or hold the baby so you can take a quick shower, I'm also here for mental support. I'm here to debrief your labor so you can process everything that happened, to help navigate all the emotions that surface in the first few weeks of parenthood, and to bring a peace of mind that you are being the best mama there is for your baby.
Lactation Support
My breastfeeding journey with my daughter was a tough one. What started with a tongue tie ended with insufficient weight gain, endless appointments, poor latch, low supply, the list goes on and on.
Unfortunately things never got better for us and I pumped, breastfed, and supplemented for our entire breastfeeding journey. This caused me to spiral into postpartum depression and anxiety. Even with all the amazing resources and people I had at my fingertips, it was devastating and hard. So if you are having difficulties,

Lactation support is included in my birth and postpartum packages. There is 24hr text and call support for my clients with any questions or concerns and will provide all the resources to try and give you the best breastfeeding or chestfeeding journey possible.
